Two doctors assaulted in Hetauda, a month after a patient died of dengue

HETAUDA: Two doctors working at the Sancho Hospital in Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-1 were assaulted on Wednesday, a month after a patient died of dengue.

A group of youths of Padam Pokhari, Hetauda assaulted the two doctors by entering into the hospital.

A man of Padam Pokhari, Hetauda had died of dengue infection a month ago.

The group of youths attacked the doctors saying that the man died owing to their negligence.

Makwanpur police said that the youths assailed Dr Bikash Thapa and Dr Prashant Bidari in the hospital yesterday.

DSP Laxmi Bhandari and spokesperson at the District Police Office, Makwanpur said that the relatives of a man, who died due to dengue infection a month ago, assaulted the doctors by entering into the hospital.

The man, who was infected and suffering from dengue fever and respiratory problem, was treated at the Sancho Hospital and breathed his during the course of treatment at a hospital in Chitwan.

Dr Bidari and Dr Thapa have sustained injuries on their eyes and face.

Meanwhile, Nepal Health Workers Association by issuing a notice has warned of halting all the services at the hospital if those involved in the incident are not arrested and taken action.
