Nembang’s body to be kept at party office for final tributes

KATHMANDU: The mortal remains of Constituent Assembly Chairman and CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Subash Nembang will be kept at the party office in Chyasal the whole day today for final tributes.

Nembang died of a heart attack in the wee hours on Tuesday.

According to a family source, the last rites of Nembang will be performed after his son comes to Nepal from Australia.

Nembang, a member of the National Assembly from 1991 to 1995 and elected as a member of the House of Representatives from 1999, 2007, 2013, 2022, was the Vice-Chairman and deputy Parliamentary Party leader of the party.

He became the Speaker of the restored Parliament in 2006, Speaker of the Legislative Parliament in 2007 and Constituent Assembly Chairman and Speaker from 2008 to 2013.
