13-year-old student commits suicide in Rukum West

SURKHET: Police have arrested the principal and the operator of a boarding school in Rukum West in connection with the suicide of a 13-year-old student.

Shristi Gautam (13), an eighth grader at the Valley Public Boarding School in Purano Bazaar of Chaurajahari Municipality-1, had committed suicide on Friday.

Inspector Dharmendra Khadka of the District Police Office said that principal Lamichhane Shah and operator Uden Bhutiya were apprehended for inciting suicide.

The families of Gautam said that Principal Shah and operator Bhutiya had beaten her black and blue and she committed suicide by hanging in the school dress soon after coming to home.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
