Speaker orders govt to appraise House of attack on Yadav, death of girl in Kanti Hospital

KATHMANDU: House of Representatives Speaker Devraj Ghimire has issued a ruling to the government to inform the Parliament about the attack on Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary and Constituent Assembly member Mahendra Yadav.

After the lawmakers who spoke at the emergency, zero and special time of the Parliament meeting held on Thursday drew serious attention towards the incident, Speaker Ghimire directed the government to provide all the information about the incident and the five-year-old girl who died in the want of treatment at the Kanti Children’s Hospital.

“Today, lawmakers raised serious issues like the death of a five-year-old girl at the Kanti Children’s Hospital due to lack of treatment and the attack on Nepali Congress Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav in the emergency, zero and special time. I direct the government to inform the House about the incidents,” Speaker Ghimire said.

In the meeting, lawmakers have demanded that the government take stern action against those involved in both the criminal incidents.
