NSU cadres stage demonstration demanding resignation of Home Minister Shrestha (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Cadres of Nepal Students Union, the student wing of Nepali Congress, staged a demonstration in the Capital on Wednesday following a khukuri attack on party’s Joint General Secretary Mahendra Yadav.

They staged a demonstration outside the Minbhawan-based Nepal Commerce Campus demanding resignation of Home Minister Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

The demonstrators also took out a torch rally demanding stern action against those involved in the attack.

Yadav was attacked with a khukuri when he was exiting from the premises of the Reporters’ Club after attending a program.

Leader Yadav, who sustained injuries on his head, is undergoing treatment at the Trauma Centre.

Meanwhile, police have arrested Shyam Babu Sapkota (47) of Bidur Municipality-7, Nuwakot for his alleged involvement in attacking Congress leader Yadav with a sharp weapon.
