3 killed, 8 injured as landslide buries Scorpio jeep in Palpa

KATHMANDU: Three persons died and eight others were injured when a landslide buried a Scorpio jeep they were travelling in at Jorte in Ribdikot Rural Municipality-2 of Palpa district on Wednesday.

The jeep (Lu 1 Ja 4600) was heading towards Butwal from Tamghas of Gulmi when the tragedy occurred.

DSP Birendra Thapa of the District Police Office, Palpa said that three persons died on the spot and eight people including three children were rescued from the incident site.

Sub-Inspector Raj Kumar Chapagain, Chief at the District Traffic Office, Palpa, said that the landslide buried the four-wheeler at around 8 am today.

Police said that they are looking into the case.
