Missing Major Pandit’s whereabouts still unknown

KATHMANDU: The whereabouts of Major Bimal Pandit, who had gone missing for the past 36 hours, is still unknown.

The Chief at the Nanda Box Battalion of Bhadale in Dunai, the district headquarters of Dolpa, Pandit had gone missing since Sunday evening.

Chief District Officer of Dolpa Bhumishwor Pokharel said that he had headed towards Tripurakot by reserving a public jeep from Dunai and has been missing since then.

“We have searched for him in all possible places like Tripura, Lipu and Khodang but could not find him,” he said.

“We have been receiving calls from his family members. Everyone is worried. Now, we have started searching for him in each house. We will try our best to search for him,” he said.

Pokharel said that Major Pandit is the permanent resident of Kathmandu.

A joint team of Nepal Police, Nepal Army, Armed Police Force and National Investigation Department have been searching for him since yesterday evening.
