Lamichhane leaves for Pakistan to play Asia Cup

KATHMANDU: Nepal’s leg spinner Sandeep Lamichhane has left for Pakistan to play Asia Cup on Monday.

Member-Secretary of the National Sports Council Tanka Lal Ghising had reached Tribhuvan International Airport to bid farewell to cricketer Lamichhane.

He said that Lamichhane’s presence will be very important for Nepal.

“This is a very important tournament in the history of Nepal. Sandeep could not go with the team due to a technical reason. Now, his journey has been confirmed,” he said, adding, “Sandeep’s presence is very important in the Asia Cup. The entire country’s hope is on Sandeep. Sandeep’s entry has made the Nepali team complete.”

Lamichhane said that he is very excited to play against Pakistan and India.

“The team has been performing well. I had also been practicing alone here. I am ready to play and I am also fit. I hope that I will do well in the Asia Cup,” he said.
