PM Dahal ready to give leadership of one parliamentary committee to RPP

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has become ready to give the leadership of one of the parliamentary committees to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party.

Prime Minister Dahal has expressed his commitment to give leadership of a parliamentary party to the Rastriya Prajatantra Party in his attempt to bring all the political parties on board, a source said.

An election will be held at 3 pm on Sunday to elect presidents of the parliamentary committees.

The aspirants for the leadership of 10 thematic committees are filing their nominations today.

It was agreed that the Nepali Congress would get the leadership of three committees and the CPN (Maoist Center) would get two.

RPP Chairman Rajendra Lingden had held talks with Prime Minister Dahal about the leadership of the parliamentary committee. He is currently in Dubai.

Lingden had left for Dubai to take part in a program by assigning Vice-Chairman Buddhiman Tamang to work as the acting chairman.

Tamang had held a discussion with the Prime Minister on the parliamentary committee on Saturday.

According to a source, Prime Minister Dahal had made a call to Tamang and expressed his readiness to give the leadership to one of the parliamentary committees.

It has not been decided yet which committee the RPP will get.
