Nepali cricket team leaving for Pakistan tomorrow

KATHMANDU: The Nepali cricket team will leave for Pakistan on Wednesday for the Asia Cup cricket.

The Cricket Association of Nepal is making preparations to bid farewell to the team today.

Though the Asia Cup will start from August 30, the Nepali cricket team is leaving for Pakistan to play some practice matches.

Nepal will lock their horns against Pakistan in the inaugural match.

Nepali team star spinner Sandeep Lamichhane will not leave for Pakistan tomorrow.

Though he is in the 17-member squad, he has not participated in the closed training sessions.

It has not been confirmed whether he will play the Asia Cup or not owing to the delay in the decision on his case.

According to a source, it will be decided within two to three days whether he will play the Asia Cup or not.

CAN Chairman Chatur Bahadur Chand said that Lamichhane did not participate in the training sessions as he is not feeling well.

Chand expressed his belief that Lamichhane will play the Asia Cup even though he did not leave for Pakistan with the team.
