Sankhuwasabha chopper crash: One injured person dies (Update)

KATHMANDU: A person who was injured in the Simrik Air helicopter crash in Bhotkhola-4, Sankhuwasabha district, today has unfortunately succumbed, according to the police.

The deceased has been identified as Bhabin Gurung, a local resident.

Four others have sustained severe injuries in the crash, as reported by Deputy Superintendent of Police Birendra Godar.

Gurung was employed as a cargo assistant for Simrik Air.

The individuals who are seriously injured include Captain Surendra Paudel, co-pilot Tshering Bhote, assistant Manoj Thapa, and Nepal Electricity Authority employee Bikram Shankar.

All of the injured individuals have been transported to Kathmandu for treatment.

The helicopter crashed into a tree at Hammaredanda in Sikprung of Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 at 1:10 pm today.
