NRB takes action against 9 commercial banks

KATHMANDU: Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) has taken action against nine Class ‘A’ commercial banks for not abiding by the directives issued on various occasions.

According to NRB, some of these banks have been fined for violating the CD ratio (Credit Deposit ratio) provision.

The central bank has fined Nabil Bank more than Rs 60 million for violating the CD ratio. Similarly, Century Commerical Bank was fined  Rs 20.4 million for the same.

Meanwhile, the Rastriya Banijya Bank has been fined Rs 1 million after it failed to comply with the money laundering act.
