CPN (MC) withdraws support extended to govt in Gandaki Province

GANDAKI: The CPN (Maoist Centre) has withdrawn support extended to the CPN-UML-led government in Gandaki Province.

A Parliamentary Party meeting of the Maoist Centre held on Friday decided to withdraw support extended to Chief Minister Khagraj Adhikari.

Following the decision, the two ministers will resign today itself.

UML Parliamentary Party leader Adhikari was appointed as the Chief Minister with the support of the CPN (Maoist Centre) and the Rastriya Prajatantra Party on January 9.

The Adhikari-led government fell into minority after the Maoist Centre decided to withdraw the support.

Now, Adhikari has to seek a vote of confidence within 30 days.

Hari Bahadur Chuman was appointed as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure and Transport Management and Resham Bahadur Jugjali as the Minister for Forest from the CPN (Maoist Centre).
