Speaker Ghimire congratulates Paudel for being elected as President

KATHMANDU: Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) Devraj Ghimire congratulated Ram Chandra Paudel on his election to the post of President and wished for a successful tenure by visiting the latter’s residence in the Capital on Friday.

Nepali Congress senior leader Paudel was elected as the President on Thursday. Poudel was a joint candidate of CPN (Maoist Centre), CPN (Unified Socialist), Janata Samajwadi Party Nepal, Loktantrik Samajbadi Party Nepal, Janmat Party, Nagarik Unmukti Party, Rastriya Janamorcha and Nepal Samajwadi Party along with his party, the Nepali Congress.

During the meeting, Ghimire told Paudel that he is leaving for Bahrain on March 11-15 to take part in the 146th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU). The

Ghimire’s Press Advisor Shekhar Adhikari said that the Speaker also informed Paudel that he would not be able to attend his swearing in ceremony.

On the occasion, President-elect Paudel expressed his greetings for the success of the IPU Assembly. RSS
