Eight parties meeting kicks off at Baluwatar

KATHMANDU: A meeting of the eight political parties has just begun at Prime Minister’s official residence, Baluwatar in Kathmandu with an objective to discuss the impending presidential election and contemporary political issues. The meeting started at 4:30 PM today.

Attendees of the meeting are Prime Minister and CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba, former Prime Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai and CPN (Unified Socialist) General-Secretary Beduram Bhusal.

Furthermore, Janata Samajbadi Party leader Rajendra Shrestha and Lokatantrik Samajwadi Party Chairperson Mahantha Thakur are also present at the meeting.

The ruling coalition has fielded Ram Chandra Poudel as its common candidate for the March 9 presidential election. RSS
