Democracy Day being observed today

KATHMANDU: The 73rd National Democracy Day is being celebrated today by organizing various programs across the country.

The government has organized a special program at Tudikhel in the capital today.

The day is observed in commemoration of 7th Falgun, 2007 BS when democracy was established in Nepal after the end of the 104-year-old autocratic Rana rule.

Since 2008 BS, it has become a tradition for the main ceremony committee to organize a special ceremony at the Sainik Manch every year.

Reminding the importance of Democracy Day, the President, the Vice-President, the Prime Minister and the leaders of the major political parties have extended greetings to all while also paying tributes to the martyrs on this historical occasion. RSS
