Nepal register thrilling three-wicket victory over Scotland

KATHMANDU: Nepal secured a three-wicket win over Scotland in the ongoing triangular one-day series under the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup League 2 on Friday.

In the match played at the TU Cricket Ground based in Kirtipur today, Nepal chased the target of 275 runs set by Scotland in 47 overs losing seven wickets.

Dipendra Singh Airee scored 85 runs off 116 balls hitting eight fours and one six, while Kushal Malla garnered 81 runs off 67 balls with nine fours and four sixes.

Similarly, Sompal Kami contributed unbeaten 24 runs while Gulsan Jha scored 17 runs for Nepal.

Kushal Bhurtel scored 16 runs, and Ashif Sheikh, Rohit Poudel, Sandeep Jora, and Gyanendra Malla made nine, six, five, and four runs respectively.

Meanwhile,  Sandeep Lamichhane took three wickets, while Kushal Malla claimed two wickets. Sompal Kami, Dipendra Singh Airee, and Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket each.

For Scotland, Michael Leask scored highest 107 runs off 85 balls, hitting nine sixes and three fours.

Nepal will play against Namibia on Saturday.
