Properties worth millions of rupees destroyed in Damak fire

JHAPA: Properties worth millions of rupees were destroyed when a fire destroyed nine shops at Namuna Bazaar of Damak in Jhapa district on Sunday.

The reason behind the fire that broke out at around 2 am today has not been ascertained yet.

DSP Dilip Giri of the Area Police Office, Damak suspected that the fire could have broken out due to power leakage.

Police are collecting the details of the losses.

The fire was put out at around 5 am with the help of local residents, police and fire engines from Damak, Kamal, Gauradaha, Kanepokhari and other local levels in Jhapa.
