We will not join ruling coalition: Madhav Nepal

KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) Chairman Madhav Kumar Nepal has said his party would not join the CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government.

In the politburo meeting that kicked off in Kathmandu from Monday, Nepal said that his party would not join the incumbent ruling coalition.

Saying that he has been doing so far so good in the current political situation, the former Prime Minister claimed that they would not bow down in front of others.

“The country’s politics have their own complexities. Our party cannot join the ruling alliance. We want to take the country ahead. We want to move forward by keeping the country’s interests at the centre,” he said.

The meeting is expected to review the recent elections to the House of Representatives and the Province Assembly, and discuss party’s future strategy, a source said.
