SC issues order to release Charles Sobhraj (Full text)

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday issued an order to release notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj from jail and return him to his country within 15 days.

A joint bench of justices Sapana Pradhan Malla and Til Prasad Shrestha issued the order today after hearing a habeas corpus petition filed by Sobhraj.

Sobhraj, a French citizen, has been serving a life sentence in Nepal for the murder of American tourist Connie Joe Bronzich in 1975.
