Party will not bear the consequences of wrong decision of government: Thapa

KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress General Secretary Gagan Thapa has strongly objected to the government’s decision to issue an ordinance to grant amnesty to Resham Chaudhary.

Expressing his opinion through social media, Thapa clarified that they had not held any discussions or made any decision on the issue.

“The stance of the party in the past is the same today. Hence, the party will not bear the consequences of the wrong decision made by the government,” he said.

Saying that the current government is temporary, leader Thapa said that the government cannot take important decisions.

“The government has no legal and constitutional rights to bring the ordinance,” he added.

The former Health Minister made it clear that the government cannot withdraw the case pending on the court.

Saying that the executive has interfered with the jurisdiction of the court and Parliament, Thapa demanded immediate withdrawal of the ordinance.
