Vote counting halted in Dolakha

KATHMANDU: The vote counting in Dolakha has been halted following a dispute.

The counting of votes was stopped after the CPN-UML staged a protest arguing that around 150 votes had gone missing.

The concerned stakeholders are holding a meeting at present.

The UML candidates and cadres have been saying that they would not allow the authority to resume the vote counting until the issue is resolved.

CPN (Maoist Centre) candidate Ganga Karki, common candidate of the ruling coalition, has been leading the vote count in the election held for the second time.

UML’s Bal Krishna Shivakoti has been following him.

Out of 9, 076 votes counted so far,  Karki has secured 2, 107 votes.
