UML’s Mahesh Basnet emerges victorious from Ilam-1

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML candidate Mahesh Basnet has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Ilam Constituency-1.
He defeated former Prime Minister and CPN (Unified Socialist) senior leader Jhalanath Khanal to emerge victorious.
Basnet won the election by a margin of 2, 957 votes.
