UML’s second victory in Kathmandu Valley, Krishna Gopal Shrestha elected from Kathmandu-9

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML candidate Krishna Gopal Shrestha has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives from Kathmandu-9.

He defeated Tek Bahadur Pokharel of Rastriya Swatantar Party by 995 votes to become the member of the Parliament.

Out of 43, 037 votes cast, Shrestha secured 11, 956 votes while his closest contender Tek Bahadur Pokharel garnered 10, 961 votes.

Similarly, Kalpana Dhamala of the CPN (Maoist Center), a common candidate of the alliance, got 6, 402 votes.
