ASI injured as locals, police clash during voting in Humla

KATHMANDU: An Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) was injured when a clash between locals and police broke out during voting in Danfe polling center of Chankheli Rural Municipality-5, Humla.

The victim has been identified as Ram Kumar Chaudhary.

The clash broke out after the police deployed for security during voting barred locals from voting as representatives, said Sita Pariyar, Chief District Officer (CDO) of Humla. The voting has been halted for now.

Pariyar said that the discussions are ongoing to resume voting.
