CIAA accuses Special Court of giving clean chits in corruption cases negligently

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has accused the Special Court of giving clean chits in the corruption cases negligently.

Saying that the Special Court has not become sensitive and the number of people getting clean chits has also been increasing, the anti-corruption watchdog has said that negligence has been seen on the part of the court.

Organising a press conference in the Capital on Tuesday, the CIAA presented the data which shows that 143 people got clean chits in the 164 cases since July.

Of them, 122 have appealed to the Supreme Court against the Special Court.

The number of defendants in the cases is 251.
