Niharika’s son DNA samples match with Shivaraj Shrestha

KATHMANDU: The DNA samples of Niharika Rajput’s son have been matched with the rape accused Shivaraj Shrestha.

A DNA test was conducted at the National Forensic Science Laboratory in Lalitpur where the DNA samples of Niharika’s child were matched with that of Shrestha, said Khadgaraj Adhikari, registrar of the Janakpur High Court.

Niharika Rajput had filed a complaint against Shivaraj Shrestha accusing him of raping her when she was 17 years old and impregnating her.

Rajput’s lawyer Rinku Yadav said that the test report shows a 99.999 percent DNA match between Shrestha and the child. It has been confirmed that Shrestha is the biological father of that child, she said.

Nihiraka’s case is currently pending in the Janakpur High Court.
