EC to publish name list of candidates today

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission is to publish the name list of candidates who have filed their candidacies under the first-past-the-post category for the elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly slated for November 20.

The poll body said that it will publish the list from 5 pm to 7 pm today.

EC Spokesperson Shalikram Sharma said that the name list will be made public by carrying out investigation of the complaints filed against the candidates who had filed their nominations on Sunday.

The Commission said that a total of 2, 526 candidates including 2, 291 men and 235 women have filed their nomination papers for the 165 FPTP parliamentary seats.

Similarly, a total of 3, 476 candidates, including 3, 178 men, 297 women, and one other have filed their nominations for 330 provincial assembly seats.
