2 killed, 36 injured in Hetauda bus accident

KATHMANDU: Two persons died and 36 others sustained injuries when a bus they were traveling in met with an accident near Churiyamai Temple of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-15 along the East-West Highway on Monday.

The deceased have been identified as Dilli Bahadur Darji (60) of Damak-5, Jhapa and Kalpana Rajbanshi (51) of Belbari-8, Morang, Tek Bahadur Karki, Spokesperson at District Police Office in Makwanpur, said.

The incident took place when the bus (Na 7 Kha 2032) was heading towards Jhapa from Kathmandu this morning.

Similarly, 36 passengers were injured in the incident.

Among the injured, 30 have been discharged while the remaining ones have been referred to the hospitals of Bharatpur and Kathmandu.

Further investigation into the incident is underway, police said
