Patan High Court directs KMC not to demolish structures constructed by encroaching Tukucha River

KATHMANDU: The Patan District Court has directed the Kathmandu Metropolitan City not to demolish the structures built by encroaching the Tukucha River.

The Court issued the order after the Kathmandu Metropolitan City started preparing to demolish the structures to search for the missing Tukuche River.

A single bench of Justice Dipendra Bahadur Bam issued the temporary order today.

Patan High Court Registrar Thagindra Kattel said that the decision on whether to give continuity to the interim order will be made after holding a discussion with both the parties.

A writ petition was filed at the Patan High Court on September 16 demanding an interim order not to demolish the structures constructed by encroaching the Tukucha River.

The three companies had registered the writ making the Kathmandu Metropolitan City as defendant.
