15yo girl gang raped in Kailali

KATHMANDU: A fifteen-year-old girl was gang-raped in Kailali.

A group of four men raped the girl who had gone to watch Deuda dance held on the occasion of the Gaura festival in Ghodaghodi Municipality-5, Sukhad of the district. The incident took place on September 6.

DSP Laxaman Shahi of the Area Police Office, Sukhad said that one of them forcefully intoxicated the girl after taking her to an isolated place and called the other three boys and raped her the whole night.

The incident came to light when the locals informed the police after they found the girl in an unconscious state at Sukhad Bazar on September 8.

The girl was taken to Ghodaghodi hospital for treatment where she gave her statement to the police of being raped by the four boys.

Police immediately started a search operation for the accused.

So far ,the police have arrested three persons involved in the incident. Police has not revealed the identities of the arrested.

DSP Shahi said that police are searching for the fourth absconding person.

The victim has been sent to Dhangadhi for medical examination, police said.
