Security guard Gurung arrested for asking sitting minister to wait in queue released on general date

KATHMANDU: Security guard Sher Jung Gurung of Chhaya Centre, who was arrested for misbehaving with Tourism Minister Jeevan Ram Shrestha, has been released on general date on Monday.

The District Administration Office, Kathmandu said that Gurung was released on general data.

Gurung was arrested after he asked Minister Shrestha who had reached the visa centre for biometrics for his and his family’s trip to Canada, to stay in queue.

Following widespread criticism, Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand this afternoon directed Chief District Officer Govinda Rijal to release the security guard.
