EC opposes government’s plan to extend Parliament’s tenure

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission (EC) has expressed its dissatisfaction over the government’s move to extend the tenure of the House of Representatives (HoR).

Issuing a statement on Monday, the EC said that it’s attention has been drawn towards the bill tabled by the government in the Parliament to extend the term of the House of Representatives.

The poll body said that the draft of the bill was submitted without holding consultation with the commission.
