Couple killed in lightning in Kanchanpur

KATHMANDU: A couple died after being hit by lightning in Kanchanpur on Sunday.

The deceased have been identified as Deepak Rana (22) and his wife Mantara Rana of Shantipur, Krishnapur Municipality-7, said the District Police Office (DPO), Kanchanpur.

They were returning home after fishing when the incident took place, Chakra Bahadur Shah, Spokesperson at the District Police Office (DPO), said.

The couple breathed their last while they were being taken to a hospital in Dhangadhi for treatment, police said.
