Contempt of court case: SC directs Mayor Shah to furnish written clarification within 7 days

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court has directed Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Shah to furnish written clarification in the contempt of court by appearing himself in the court within a week.

Earlier, the apex court had issued an interim order directing the KMC not to demolish the illegal structures of Norvic Hospital.

In response, Mayor Balen Shah said that it would be better if the job to approve the map of the building be also given to the Supreme Court.

Advocate Deepak Raj Joshi filed a contempt of court case against Shah.

Hearing the case, Justice Hari Krishna Karki directed Mayor Shah to furnish the clarification by appearing himself in the court.
