Niharika ends 17 days hunger strike following three-point agreement with govt

KATHMANDU: Niharika Rajput on Sunday ended her fast-onto-death following a three-point agreement with the government.

The agreement was made by the Chief District Officer of Kathmandu Gobinda Prasad Rijal with Rajput last night.

Rajput ended her strike in the presence of Minister for Law Govinda Prasad Koirala.

According to the agreement, the government advocate on behalf of the writ petitioner would as per the request of Rajput demand a DNA test in the case that is sub-judice in the High Court.

Rajput, a single mother, has long been protesting and demanding justice for her and her son.

She has accused Shivaraj Shrestha of Janakpur of raping her when she was 17 years old.
