5 killed in Darchula jeep accident

DARCHULA: Five persons died on the spot when a jeep they were travelling in met with an accident at Ullani in Shailyashikhar Municipality-6, Darchula on Wednesday.

Chief District Officer of Darchula Dirgha Raj Upadhyay said that five persons died on the spot and five to six persons were injured in the accident.

Locals and police personnel rescued the injured and took them to a hospital for treatment.

The tragedy took place when the jeep (Se 1 Ja 551) was heading towards Darchula from Gokuleshwor fell some 250 metres down the road.

Details of the incident are awaited.
