Slum areas on the bank of Manohara river inundated (With photos)

KATHMANDU: Slum areas on the bank of Manohara river in Bhaktapur have been inundated following torrential rainfall on Wednesday.

The floods washed away some shanties on the bank of the river. The flood water also gushed into a school, causing damage to the property.

Locals have been cleaning their houses since this morning after the water gushed into the settlement.

No human casualty has been reported so far.

Police personnel and rescue teams have been deployed in the area.

Meanwhile, a police station at Kandaghari has also been submerged.

The water level in Bagmati and other rivers have also been increased following incessant rainfall in Kathmandu Valley.
