EC okays election calendar, filing of nominations for FPTP category will be held on October 9

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission has approved the election calendar for the parliamentary and provincial elections.

A meeting of the Commission held on Sunday endorsed the calendar for the elections scheduled for November 20.

According to a source, the poll body passed the calendar for internal purposes.

The EC said that the filing of nominations for federal and provincial elections under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) category will be held on October 9.

The offices of the Chief election officers and election officers will be established in 77 districts and in 88 places respectively for 165 House of Representatives (HoR) seats and 330 Provincial Assembly seats.
