I am confident that Nepal will support China on Taiwan issue: Chinese envoy

KATHMANDU: Chinese ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi made her opinion public amidst the tension between China-US following the visit of US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi to Taiwan.

The Chinese ambassador on Wednesday said that she is confident that Nepal will support China on the Taiwan issue.

Saying that Nepal and China are the trustworthy neighbours of each other, she expressed her confidence that Nepal will support China on the Taiwan issue.

“The Nepal government and the people of Nepal are following the One-China policy and we believe that Nepal will support China by understanding its genuine demands,” she said.
