Nepal reports 814 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday

KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded 814 new Covid-19 cases on Tuesday.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, 5, 415 swab samples were tested in the last 24 hours, of which 814 tested positive.

Out of 5,415, 2, 762 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 509 returned positive. Likewise, 2, 653 people underwent antigen tests, of which 305 were tested positive, the Ministry said.

With this, the active cases in the country reached 5,144. Twenty-seven infected people recovered from the disease.

The Ministry said that 4, 985 are in home isolation while 159 are in institutionalised isolation and 38 are in intensive care units.

Likewise, five are receiving treatment on the ventilator.
