Two arrested for illegally trafficking wildlife

KATHMANDU: Police arrested two persons in possession of wild animals including tortoises on Sunday.

A team deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, Koteshwor nabbed Raj Deula (25)and Rahul Deula (20) of Kirtipur Municipality-9, with 10 tortoises.

Spokesperson at Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu Dinesh Raj Mainali said that the police team arrested both from a café at Kathmandu metropolis-32, Koteswor on the charge of being involved in illegal trafficking of wildlife.

Police recovered 10 tortoises, three sets of mobiles and a motorbike (Ba 99 Pa 4944) from the smugglers.

Mainali further shared that the Koteswor police station is carrying out an investigation into the incident. RSS
