2 youths drown in Rapti river

BANKE: Two youths gone for cremation in the Rapti river of Banke district drowned while swimming on Thursday.

According to Madhu Sudan Neupane, Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Banke, Tribal Shah (18) and Lekhraj Chhantel of Simikot-8, Humla, were found dead in the river this morning.

A search operation for the duo was carried out after they had gone for cremation on Wednesday but didn’t return home till 6 pm, said Nepupane.

The police team deployed for the search operation on Thursday morning had recovered their bodies from Sidhaniyaghat of Duduwa rural municipality-4.
