Home Ministry forms committee to investigate death of Sundar Harijan

KATHMANDU: Home Minister Bal Krishna Khand on Tuesday formed a five-member committee to investigate the death of Sundar Harijan.

Harijan was found hanging in the Rolpa Prison Office on May 18.

Joint Secretary of the Ministry Surya Prasad Sedhai will led the committee.

Information Officer at the Ministry Basanta Bhattarai said that the committee will have to submit the report within a week.

Under Secretary Jhankanath Dhakal of the Ministry, DSP Bhupendra Khatri of Nepal Police, Bishwomani Acharya of the National Investigation Department and an administrative officer of the District Administrative Office, Banke are the members of the committee.

Earlier, the committee formed under the headship Jharendra Chapagain, Director of the Department of Prison Management,  to investigate the death has already submitted its report, Information Officer Bhattarai said.
