NC wins mayor and deputy mayor posts in Tanahun

TANAHUN: Nepali Congress has won both mayor and deputy mayor posts in Bhanu Municipality of Tanahun.

Ananda Raj Tripathi has been elected as the mayor and Uma Gautam as the deputy mayor of the municipality.

Tripathi garnered 12, 252 votes while his closest contender Sita Ram Bajagain of CPN-UML secured 9, 043 votes, Election Officer Min Bahadur Kunwar said.

Similarly, Gautam received 10, 547 votes while her competitor independent candidate Keshar Bahadur Gurung got 5, 817 votes.
