3 held with bullets, pangolin scales from various parts of Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Police on Wednesday arrested three persons in possession of bullets and pangolin scales from various parts of Kathmandu.

Mandal Giri (57) of Pakhirbas Municipality-8, Dhankura was arrested with bullets and a pangolin scale from Teku of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-12

Acting on a tip-off, police carried out a raid at the room of Giri and recovered bullets and 95 grams of pangolin scale.

Similarly, police apprehended two persons in possession of around 4.5 kg pangolin scales from Universal Lounge and Bar in Shantinagar of Kathmandu Metropolitan City -31 on Wednesday.

The arrestees have been identified as Subilal Syangtan (32) of Bagmati Municipality, Sarlahi and Subash Bista (21) of Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-2, Okhaldhunga.

A team of police deployed from Metropolitan Police Circle, New Baneshwor apprehended the duo during the security check and recovered pangolin scales from their possession.

Police are further investigating the case.
