Election code of conduct comes into effect from today

KATHMANDU: The Election Commission(EC) has implemented the code of conduct for the local level elections slated for May 13 from today.

The EC said that election code of conduct has come into effect from today by organising a press conference.

It has warned of actions per the law if any candidates or parties are found violating the code of conduct.

The poll body said that the elections will be held in a free, fair and fearless environment.

Speaking at the press conference, EC spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel all should make efforts to strengthen democracy by conducting the election in free and fair and fearless environment.
