UML draws EC’s attention by pointing out mistakes in election code of conduct

KATHMANDU: The main opposition CPN-UML has drawn the attention of the Election Commission pointing out the mistakes in the election code of conduct issued by the poll body for the upcoming local level elections.

The party, however, has expressed its commitment to help the Election Commission to hold the civic polls in a free, fair and transparent manner.

A team led by party General Secretary Shankar Pokharel submitted a six-point commitment paper by including the mistakes in the election code of conduct to Chief Election Commissioner Dinesh Thapaliya this afternoon.

The party has mentioned the mistakes of the election code of conduct issued by the Election Commission in six points.

One of the mistakes the party has pointed out the political parties, candidates and sister organisations are not allowed to campaign for the elections.
