MCC should be allowed to table in Parliament: CPN (US)

KATHMANDU: CPN (Unified Socialist) concluded that the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) compact, which was registered in the Parliament Secretariat, should be allowed to table in the Parliament for the endorsement.

The party, however, said that some of the provisions of the MCC should be amended.

A Standing Committee meeting of the party held on Saturday concluded that the $500 million compact should be allowed to table in the Parliament regardless of whether it passes or fails for discussions, party’s Chief Whip Jeevan Ram Shrestha said.

CPN (US) leaders said that the coalition should not fall apart because of the MCC.
