Nepali Congress forms 37-member Central Executive Committee (With list)
KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress has formed a 37-member Central Executive Committee under its Central Working Committee on Friday.
A virtual meeting of the Central Committee held this afternoon formed the committee.
A proposal tabled by party President Sher Bahadur Deuba to form the Central Executive Committee in the Central Committee meeting has been endorsed unanimously.
Party President Deuba, senior leader Ram Chandra Paudel and leader Dr Shekhar Koirala among other former office bearers are in the Central Executive Committee. Similarly, some senior central members have also been included in the committee.
There is a provision in the party statute that the office bearers and spokesperson should be included in the committee.
The party is yet to select the treasurer and spokesperson. Apart from that, there should be 31 central members in the Central Executive Committee.
Out of 46, party President Deuba has selected 35 members and 11 will be nominated later.
